This year’s process and outcome of the book trailer was satisfactory, and had both positive and negative points. For example, I was glad to be able to read a book of the middle school level for the first time this year. However, as it also happened to be a nonfiction book, I was able to learn the differences between creating a trailer for a nonfiction and fiction book (such as the difficulty) which will benefit me in the future. If I were to change something about my trailer, I would focus on including more originally made materials (such as drawings and pictures).

Throughout the trailer videos, texts and music of this book, it is clearly stated that our convenient lifestyle threatens the safety of marine life.
The last question in this trailer makes us want to read the book to learn how to solve these serious problems.

This year, I tried new methods to make the trailer. I've been drawing the pictures, but I limited myself to only using free images, and I used an app to edit my video. This was more challenging than I thought it would be because I had to edit with my phone, send it to my computer, then make revisions on my phone, and send it to my computer again. I had to repeat this numerous times, but trying new things was very entertaining.

The trailer started with a bright scene, "I won the lottery!". Dark-monotonous scenes follow right after, and the contrast attracts the audience.
The detailed situation of the main character is explained in the middle. Using the original images and including the message "find hope in difficulty" would help improve the trailer.

The part where put the most effort for this book trailer was the art, because I drew every piece of art used in the trailer therefore it took time to complete. I made an effort to make the art easily understandable by color coordinating the art. For example I used softer colors such as sky blue and white to indicate the main character and used red and black for the enemies. I mainly edited my video on an editing app, I struggled a bit to match the video with the background sound. aside from those I did not have much trouble creating the book trailer in fact I think I learned a lot from this experience.

The structure of the trailer is well organized and easy to understand. Some parts might be a little too simple. Adding narracion would help to get the attention of the audience.

The book I had created for this book trailer was extremely interesting. Selecting the background music, sound effects and drawings/images was very difficult. Utilizing the sound and images to convey the book’s message was one of the main goals. The most important message of this book I tried to convey, was that we need to understand and be grateful for the lives of the cows that we eat. The emotions connected to the message has been expressed with the facial expressions of the characters. Another issue with the book trailer was the lack of body movement within the characters. I have also tried to show many different settings of the book. Due to the lack of experience with book trailer creation, I stumbled upon several issues.

The hand-drawn pictures and the speech bubbles well express the feelings of the main character.
Including a question or a message that makes the audience want to know more about the story would improve the quality of the book trailer.

Making this book trailer was very fun, because it was something that you would not really do in school or by yourself. I found that being creative and thinking of what you should do throughout making the trailer was very hard. Another thing I found hard was that finding background and the audio was extremely hard. If there is a chance that I can make book trailers again I would like to do it.

Sound effects and pictures match in many scenes. The message to accomplish the goal is used effectively. Using more images would help to make your trailer more interesting.

For my book trailer, I wanted to make it unique and different from the actual book. I decided to make it sadder than what the actual book shows for the reason of dramatisation. This made the book trailer more interesting. Additionally, I worked really hard on the transitions of the titles and the background images so that they would not over-lapse each other. This made the book trailer seem smoother and, therefore, seem well thought of in the audience’s eyes. However, I think I needed to add more text and subtitles in the book trailer because there was little context about the story, which the audience could be confused about.

Photos of the sky are inserted all the time, and it makes us wonder if the main character was thinking about power generation while looking at the sky. It is recommended to search for sound effects to express "wind" and "effort" as well as the sound of breathing.
