Book Trailer Contest 2.0

Book Trailer Contest 2.0 - Bigger and Better 2020-2021!

Highlights of contest 2.0 in 2021 were book trailer screenings at an orphanage, with returnee students, and with Innovative Educators Experts! Thank you to those who attended the sessions and exchange opinions!

Commemorating the new contest, two webinars were organized on November 7th and 14th 2021, led by Naoko Machidori-sensei from The American School in Japan. Movie analysis and tips were taught for the teachers interested in the contest. Both sessions were completed successfully with many participants, questions and great discussions.

New: Thank you, Takashi Tsuji, the author of “Invisible Dog, Mei”, for writing a letter to Hokkaido International School, donating books to the students who created MS-B division the best award-winning book trailer in 2018. They were thrilled to hear from you!

This contest started for middle and high school students who study at international schools in Japan.

Book trailers are created in order to promote good books using images and sound, just like movie trailers.

Every year, Sakura Medal Books are chosen by librarians and Japanese teachers at international schools in Japan. Why don't you pick one of the books and create a book trailer?
