Introduction

Bloom's Taxonomy

In 1956, Benjamin Bloom chaired the committee which proposed the Taxonomy and therefore known by his name widely. This taxonomy divided learning objectives into cognitive (knowledge), affective (attitude) and sensory (skills). It classify thinking, learning, and understanding. It proposes a progression in the knowledge acquisition which goes sequentially as Knowledge, Comprehension, Application, Analysis, Synthesis, and Evaluation.

It is useful educators in planning the learning objectives and assessment. It essential when teachers want to reach higher order learning starting from the lower order cognitive skills.
