NGO Management

I come from the third world and can easily connect with the mission. I have seen people suffering from poverty and homelessness. I am working for the marginalized and downtrodden for more than a decade now. My focus was on education and treated it as a means to help people achieve the highest purpose of their life. I have worked in the remotest villages and tribal regions of India.


Heading Non-profit

I am the Founder and President of the organisation working on Child Education. Samidha (www.samidha.org) is a volunteer organisation established in 2009 which is focused on Child Education and related concerns. It is working for the children coming from Urban slums, remote villages and disconnected tribal regions of India. The organisation is intellectualizing a Community Learning Space in Katol, Nagpur.

Responsibilities

      • Assuring smooth functioning, consensus and robust governance within the leadership team
      • Negotiating with sponsors, support organisations, project partners, contractors and suppliers
      • conceptualizing, designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating Projects/Programs
      • Capacity-building, Strengthening and motivating the volunteers, project teams and field staff
      • Fundraising, donor reports, donor compliance and overall stakeholder management

Employed with Non-profit

I was full-time employed with a non-profit organisation and served in the leadership team for three years as Sr Manager. The Shantilal Muttha Foundation (SMF) is a not-for-profit organization, working to bring about fundamental changes in school education, with a strong focus on education for values and school assessment for quality improvement. Mulyavardhan (MV) is a value education programme to help children imbibe democratic values, attitudes and skills in an enabling school climate. The State Government of Maharashtra and Goa reviewed and accepted the program.

Responsibilities

      • Conceptualized, designed and developed a Technology Solution for handling large scale-program
      • Anchored design, implementation, analysis, paper writing and presentations of the Educational Researches
      • Contributed to the Monitoring-Evaluation team which is chalking researched-based impact assessment
      • Analyzing regular Monitoring data from 67000 schools and suggesting improvements to implementation team

Working with Government

My recent projects were implemented in Government schools. I got an opportunity to work with Government officials at the District and State level. This gives me an understanding of the needs of the Government representatives and their working conditions. It also helps me understand of the strong compliance structure followed at that level. I have worked with the State Government of Maharashtra and the State Government of Goa.

I independently conducted a Baseline Study for a program in Goa state. There were 24 Field Researchers and 12 Block Resource Persons (government representatives) on the field, which covered the entire Goa state during this study. I was responsible for designing until delivery. Study design, monitoring the data collection process, cleaning data, analysis, and final report writing.

Responsibilities

      • Understanding the requirements from the end-users and preparing BRD
      • Updating with the progress regularly to the district, state and national authorities
      • Government liaising, negotiations and seeking permissions
      • Capacity-building of the government stakeholders on technology
