What are They?
The elden root temples are fantastic structures that are scattered across the earth. Their origins are unkown. They are mystical places where the ancient lumesse magic is at its strongest.
Temples serve two functions. The first is to create baby rootlings called seedlings with special design parameters specific to the temple's magic. The second is to provide a method for rootlings to grow their forms using lumesse. Temples hold the special ability to grant mythical form alterations that your rootling may desire. This page will talk about both functions and how to use them.
Temple-Born Rootlings
Rootlings who are born from the temples are created from pure lumesse rather than a coronation. Unlike coronation rootlings, temple-borns are not linked to any one ecosystem, and their designs may pull from animals dwelling all around the globe. They may also bear the traits of creatures found in folklore or fairytales. Temple births require a significant amount of LP to initiate, and there are tiered amounts of magic that determine just how mystical the child can begin its life.
Within each temple is a trough that shines with runic carvings. This is where rootlings come to invest their magic. As lumesse flows from your rootling into the trough a magical reaction begins to take place. In the center, below the surface of the water, a small, white, glowing orb begins to form. This is the core of a new seedling. When the light fades, you might find yourself looking upon an egg that is ready to hatch. Or perhaps a seedling is peering up at you for guidance. However the young one has entered this world, it is time for it to begin life.
If two rootlings wish to parent a seedling together, they must expend half the required lumesse points from each of them.

Discovery
The sight of the temple is one of splendor. The great, looming shadow in the distance has become a mesmerizing structure. Perhaps it looms over you like some grand old beast, or rather it is a humble treasure trove nestled into the ground that becomes more elaborate the deeper you go. Maybe this is your rootling's first time coming upon the temple, or maybe it has been here countless times- and had developed its own rituals for navigating the area. How does your rootling react to the discovery?
Summoning the Elden Root
Wherever you are in the world, the temple has a designated Elden Root. This creature will be beckoned by the birth of a new soul. How does the Elden Root enter the space? Does it emerge dramatic and bright, or maybe fade in like the vapor of a mirage? How does your rootling feel about being in the presence of something so mighty?
The Pouring of Lumesse
Your rootling must pour its lumesse into the trough to create the seedling. Is it elegant or messy? Is there a single drop of lumesse lost? Does the seedling form as an egg, or in its animal form? Is it bright, dark, or colorful? Does your rootling take to being a new parent naturally, or is this something it felt it had to do?
Guiding the Seedling
If your rootling has chosen to stay with the baby and guide it in this world, how did their first meeting take place? How does your rootling respond to its child? Is there immediate conflict between them, or are they natural friends? Does your rootling have a large family that are waiting to greet the youngest addition, or is this the first of many?

When the required points have been aquired and the temple prompt of choice has been completed they may both be submitted together.
To Create Life
Your rootling has made a journey to one of the sacred Elden Root temples to create a new rootling. This is a big deal, and not something to be glossed over! The temple grants many open doors to the design process. However, the temple requires compensation for your entry.
If two rootlings are combining their magic to complete this prompt, then players must either collaborate artwork for one prompt, or each create their own prompt-based art resulting in two pieces. Roleplays are also allowed for this trial as long as it reaches the 800 word minimum. This may also be split with one player creating the art, and one creating the writing.
2D art for temple prompts must include a scenic background. Photography of 3D crafts or models must include enough props to suggest the scene.
Player-Designed Temples
Temple design is up to player interpretation. Your rootling may find them anywhere in the world. They are always mystical and ancient, but the rest is up to the artist. When temple prompts are fulfilled the temple portrayed in the artwork may be used in future prompts by anyone. Your rootling may give the temple a name or take note of its location on a map. It may also become a part of clan territory.
