Lazy Sunday Collection. This is a production piece with an overlay from 1989. A print room employee salvaged this from being discarded after editing and production work was completed at the Universal Press Syndicate.
It is printed on glossy and thick paper for the purposes of editing and proofing. The base color layer is a reproduction of Watterson's paint with the acetate, top layer, with the inked portion printed on it. Both layers have edit notes in the form of circles.

Description from the seller:
"Here is a pair of original Calvin and Hobbes comic strips, along with the finished colored newspaper comics. The original is inside the picture frame, secured and safe. The drawings on the acetate look hand-drawn. It came from an estate sale. The framed dimensions are approximately 15 x 12 inches."

"Large Calvin and Hobbes Production Corrections Editing Artwork Print Watterson. Measures 16.5" square. There are minimal ripples from storage and age. This was aquired from Universal Press Syndicate in the mid 90s. Probably done in the art dept. Then a form sample of this would be mailed to Bill Watterson for final approval. This was before proofs were sent electronically. From a smoke free storage. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail insured mail."
