The Biorobotics and Mechatronics laboratory (BRM Lab.) was founded in 2016 by Prof. Dongwon Yun. The goal of this lab is to get ideas from nature to implant the findings into robotic and mechatroncis systems. We pursue to develop the novel and creative robot and engineering systems through this study for applications in medical, military and industrial fields.

Congrats! Junmo Yang received the Outstanding Student Research Award from the department(March 2022)
We won a new research project, Pre-Center of Revolution(P-COE) project funded by DGIST (Research fund :USD 434763 for 36 months).

We won two new researh projects funded by KEIT. One project is for the development mobile robot with a manipulator for the search and rescue task and the other one is for the development of the gripper for the industrial field from 2022 (Research fund : USD 514,470 for 57 months and USD 789,821 for 45 months).
We have stared the new project funded by Hyundai motor company to develop the new type of mobility system from 2022 to 2023 (Research fund : USD 72,500 for 12 months).
Congrats! Junmo Yang received the Outstanding Student Research Award from the department(March 2022).
UGRP team received the excellent oral presentation award and excellent post award at the undergraduate student symposium. (Dec., 2020)

The paper titled "Hot embossing process technology forming arbitrary patterns in real-time" was selected for the inside cover of Advanced Materials Technologies (Oct. 2020).
The R&E team won a Excellence Paper Award at the KRoC 2020 (Sept. 2020)
We have won a new project for developing a mobile platform for transportation, Alchemist research project supported by KEIT (Research fund: USD 152,000 for 8 months).
We won a new research project about robotic finger, which starts from 2020 (Research fund : USD 558,000 for 5 years).
We gave a presentation on a Jumping robot at the IROS 2019 (Macau, Nov. 2019).
We won the "Innovative Endeavor Prize" at the 2nd DroneBot Challenge hosted by Republic of Korea Army (Sept., 2019). All BRM members did their best to prepare for this competition for very short period (about 2 weeks).
Congrats! Jinhyeok Song was selected as a DGIST Presidential Fellowship (DPF). Definitely, this will be very helpful for his study here (Sept. 2019).
We also won a new project about development of robotic gripper, which starts from 2019 (Research fund : USD 630,000 for 33 months).
We won a new project about development of snake robot, which starts from 2019 (Research fund : USD 390,000 for 33 months).
We gave a presentation on Analysis of electromagnetic actuator at the ICRA 2019 (Canada, May 2019).
We have presented our robot in front of Korean President Moon (Mar. 22, 2019).
At the 14th Korea Robot Conference (KRoC 2019) in 2019, the R&E team (Daegu Science High School), who studied at the BRM Lab for one year in 2018, won the 'Best Paper Award' in the Future Scientist Category (Topic: Rough Road Using Variable Pitch Screws) driving robot development).
At the 14th Korea Robotics Conference (KRoC 2019) in 2019, the above 2018 UGRP team won the undergraduate 'Best Paper Award' (Topic: Development of a 4-legged walking robot using the snake's driving principle).
In 2018, the UGRP team who studied at the BRM Lab won the 'Excellent Collaboration Award' at the UGRP presentation.
At the 2018 ICMT International Conference, MyungJin Kim received the Excellent Paper Award.
In 2017, the UGRP team who studied at the BRM Lab won the 'Excellent Collaboration Award' at the UGRP presentation.
