Devil's Water rises from catchments not far from Broadwell House. After flowing east for about 1.5km, it heads northward and flows by Steel, Northumberland, before the course then flows eastward again. At this point, Rowley Burn flows into the Devil's Water, and the stream flows under the Peth Foot Bridge. Heading north, it flows by Newbiggin, and by Linnels. It continues and flows beneath the Corbridge Railway Station, to where it flows into the River Tyne at Devil's Water's mouth.
