CAS Learning Outcome:

4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences
Since the Covid-19 pandemic has started, I have been playing table tennis with my father in the apartment building very often. When I started in 2020, I didn't know how to control the ball, so I couldn't even play a simple rally. My father has experiences playing table tennis very often when he was younger, so he taught me sometimes. During my long break, my father played with me once or more per week, and when my school started, we played on every weekends. However, when the third-wave lockdown came in 2021 spring, we started to play everyday. I got better gradually. In this Covid-19 pandemic, I newly learned how to play table tennis and played very frequently. I should thank my father for making time for me to play at such a frequent rate.

Today, I went to a facility where we could try skateboarding with my friend. It was both of our first time. First, it was very difficult to even get both feet on the board. However, after 30 minutes, I was able to ride on it, skate, and even change direction slowly if needed. I think I was able to learn smoothly because I have a lot of experience ice skating and roller skating. Although I fell once and my hip was hurting very much for a while, it was very fun skateboarding because it was my first time even getting on the skateboard, and I was still able to ride on it at the end.

CAS Learning Outcome:
1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
Today, I went to The Ancient City in Samutphrakan with my friends to cycle. There, we were able to see many Thai monuments while cycling around. I have experience of cycling many times when I was still in Japan (in years of primary school), but after I came to Bangkok, I rarely cycled. Although I have still cycled a few times after leaving Japan, I hadn't cycled in a long time recently. Today, I was still able to cycle, and it was really fun. Although I don't like exercising much , and I get tired easily, cycling wasn't tiring at all, and I was able to enjoy. It made me sweat a lot, and I think that it was a good exercise. However, I haven't cycled in a long time, so when I tried to lock the bike, I hit my leg on one of the hard metals sticking out of the bike, and it hurt a lot, so I would need to learn about the bicycle's structure and handle it correctly.

CAS Learning Outcomes:
5: Demonstrate the skills and recognise the benefits of working collaboratively
On Sports Day this year, I not only participated in several sports such as futsal and volleyball, but also helped plan the relays and class games as part of the student council task. The purpose of these activities were to give non-athletes a chance to be competitive. The relays included many creative elements, such as balancing the ball between 2 players' backs or putting the tennis ball in between a player's knees to move. This not necessarily required players to run fast, but to figure out how to balance the ball and move. Class games included many traditional board games which were familiar to everyone, such as UNO and snakes and ladders. I wouldn't have been able to accomplish this creative task without the help of other student council members. I hope that these activities gave a chance for non-athletes to also have fun during Sports Day.
