- Sanding small and large inside curves.
- The spindle sander can sand inside closed holes.
- A variety of spindles can be installed for different sized curves.
- The up and down motion creates a smoother surface.
- This tool is very slow compared to other sanders.
- Always wear safety glasses when using this tool.
- Tie your hair back, above your shoulders. Make a power bun if needed.
- Tuck in loose articles of clothing and put away your earbuds.
- Don't wear gloves. (Google "De-glove" if you want to know why.)
- Turn on the dust collector whenever you use this tool!
- Only one person may use this tool at a time.
- Fingers must be 1" away from the abrasive material.
- Hold your work flat on the table.
- Sand opposite the direction of the spindle rotation.
- Sand with a smooth, gentle pressure. Do not stay in one place for too long.
- Hold onto your work when turning the sander on and off.
- If you are sanding inside a hole, place your work on the table over the spindle first, then turn on the machine. When done, turn off the machine before removing your work.
- If you lose control of your work, don't panic. Follow these steps:
- Let go of your work! You are more important than a piece of wood or the machine.
- Step back! Give yourself a moment to consider your options.
- Turn off the machine. The switch is under the table, so be careful not to get whacked in the head.
- Wait for the machine to stop.
- Scratch your head and ask yourself what went wrong.
- When done with the sander, turn it off and wait for it to stop.
- Fingers 1" away.
- One person at a time on the machine.
- Check the table for square.
- A: Locknut: This holds the sanding drum on the cylinder. Don't remove this to change cylinders. Only remove this if replacing the sandpaper.
- B: Sanding Drum: This is where the magic happens.
- C: Table: Your work must be flat on this surface. Also, be sure to check that it is square.
- D: Extra Sanding Drums: Unscrew the drum you are not using and replace it with the correct size for the work you are using.
- E: Power Switch: Green turns it on. Red turns it off.
