David has been a volunteer since November 2015. He is a retired computer software trainer who began his career as a coatings technologist and a sales representative in the paint industry.
After a mid-life return to school to study computer programming, David worked for Air Transat as a database administrator, then as a support technician at Microsoft (with a Certified Professional status in MS-Excel), then as a trainer for the Ontario Government, a private office training company, and a software developer in the public transit sector. His last position allowed him to travel around Canada and the United States visiting customers in Philadelphia, rural Kentucky, San Diego, Seattle, Spokane, Anchorage, Calgary, Thunder Bay, and several others.
For the last 40 years, David has also volunteered with several community theatre groups as a sound designer. Now that he is retired, he has discovered the joy of exchanging homes, with successful exchange of up to 3 months in Yorkshire (UK), London (UK), The Netherlands, north-eastern Italy, Prague (Czech Republic), Perth Western Australia, Portugal, Washington D.C. and, most recently, in Paris France.
He also enjoys photography, and has begun taking the photos for our group of volunteers.
