The City of Richmond Hill Adults 55+ membership offers numerous benefits to members including a Computer Information Session held on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month between 10a.m. – 12p.m. at the McConaghy Centre. This session is lead by the Richmond Hill Computer Technology Volunteers "RH-CTV".
Come and join them to learn about the amazing world of Computer Desktops/Laptops (Apple/Windows), Tablets (Android/Apple iPads), Smartphones (Android/Apple iPads) and more!
The format the Information Session is:
The 1st hour may include a presentation on a relevant technology topic or just be an open discussion on current topics of interest with regards to phones, tablets or computers and how our daily lives are affected.
The 2nd hour is an open Q&A session which provides in-person participants the opportunity to ask questions related to the technology they use daily which would be of interest to everyone in attendance. To attend in-person, you must have an Adult 55+ membership.
Note:
To attend the above in-person sessions, you must have an Adult 55+ membership. If you are unable to attend in person, you can join them virtually via Zoom (including individuals who do not have an Adult 55+ membership). Please note that virtual attendees are unable to participate in the discussions. However, you can email them your questions and they will do their best to address your question during their next Saturday 10a,m, session.
To receive their bi-monthly Newsletter, email them at the address given in the Contact Us Section.
Picture above is of volunteers Ron, Jurij and Godwin that represented how those old songs on LPs and Cassettes can still be transferred onto computers. Many of our attendees at one Information Session liked the idea of purchasing CDs rather than what our new generation does by buying songs or streaming. The CDs are not only imported into computers (and synched to tablet/smartphones), but they are backups just in case something happens in the digital world.
We request your comments, feedback and suggestions on how we can improve our services to keep our sessions/courses informative and relevant to our audience. Please email us at the address on the "Contact" page.
