All about races
Races have always been the best way to test and show your Rhaigons abilities. All of the types of races can be found on this page, as well as links to specific races to enter. Make sure you understand the rules and works of each race before you enter!
Racing is divided into different classes of "difficulty"
Unclassed- 2 training
Initiate - +3 place
Apprentice - +5 place
Sage - +7 place
Grandios- +10 place
Some classes are not available in some races, and each requires a level of placings and skill to get into the next class(RNG races do not require placings, but the same amount of entries) listed are each requirement. Each +# means that there needs to be that many new entries from the previous class to qualify.
Placing= 1st > 3rd place
Proof of Show training is required before entry to any official race. Info found on the events page.
Info on stats can be found in the stats page!
Racing guide
a few systems are important to learn for participating in races!
Placing Guide -
Placing is the entry "points" to level up to the next difficulty of races. "failed" or lost races do not count to placing points!
Training races do not count placing.
Unclassed to initiate races count "placing" as finishing in positions 5 and up.
Apprentice to sage races count "placing" as finishing in positions 3 and up.
Grandios races count "placing" as finishing in positions 2 and up.
Eligibility Guide -
Rhaigon must have a record of previous placings collected in one place to be eligible for higher classed races. this can be included on a tracker!
To participate in races, Rhaigon must have a POS and a reference image.
Submitting race entries -
If your Rhaigon is eligible to enter a race, an artwork can be made and entered into a race, there will be a separate claims channel in the discord for respective leagues, with a form to fill out for the entry.
Race rewards will not be rolled until the minimum race entry has been met (i.e. 5 entries for a 5 Rhaigon race)
Stat point influence -
In the informal league, stat points have no influence on Rhaigon placing.
In formal league, stat points are what determines the placing.
When stat points are used to calculate placing, a lump sum of brawn, agility, vigor, intellect, and insight is calculated. this decides the initial placings, for Rhaigon that are tied, RNG, support items will influence who comes out on top.
If a Rhaigon has a dramatically low stat, (for example low agility while other stats are leveled equally) RNG will determine for status effects (late start, trip, minor injury etc.) players can opt in for injury statuses (major broken bones, big falls, ligament injuries, etc) if they want to spice up their Rhaigons story. (as well as if players want to include an injury in artwork, placing will be determined based on that injuries severity).
In a similar light, if Rhaigon have a dramatically low or negative allure stat, aggression to other runners may be rolled (only for the others that have opted in for major injury)
Reward pool -
All races will have a reward pool, with more valuable prizes as the class level goes up for placing.
All races have stat levels as a participation reward, even if a major injury happens!
Many a time ago, when Rhaigon were beastial, the fastest had the best chance at survival, their young were able to escape predation, and they brought home the fresh kills. Rhaigon evolved on cliffside beach shores, where chasing down swift, often flighted prey was key to getting fed. As Rhaigon gathered more magical ability and civilized this feat of speed became a social symbol, competitiveness runs in the Rhaigon history.
In modern times, the races and competitions celebrate the Rhaigon history, and their beastial forms. some competitors work their whole lives to win big, some Rhaigon attend schools specifically for sport, come from families from winners, or are determined to pull themselves from whatever situation they are by racing.
IRRL - Informal Rhaigon Racing League
IRRL's range from homebased races, to worldwide championships. Gameplay wise, these races are judged entirely on RNG, and have no bonuses from stats.
These races are often the Rhaigon introduction into the world of racing, before moving up into the formal league.
Gameplay wise, IRRL placings can be written as non RNG for backstory purposes.
(delta national, sowaway fields, gretamund shores)
IRRL submissions are in the Rhaigon Discord server
page under construction
FRRL - Formal Rhaigon Racing League
FRRL's are the true Rhaigon racing league. These are the big dogs. Stats are important, training is crucial. The formal league is where Rhaigon make bring their legacies to the front line.
Gameplay wise, some RNG is thrown in the mix, if your stats are too low for the recommended race you might trip, or make a mistake. all race levels have a suggested stat level for entry as well as a level cap. The formal league cannot cause major or permanent injury to the rhaigon (unless opted in) to avoid unnecessary punishment to the players.

Rhaigon with extensive careers and sucess often are offered to be entered into the Hall of Fame. This is a permanent placing among the best of the best, and additionally boasts lineage buffs.
Many previous Rhaigon in the hall of fame opt to retire and turn their focus on working for the Rhaigon racing leagues.
(it is not obligated that players retire their Rhaigon when reaching hall of fame status)

outlaw races coming soon!
The outlaw race (coming soon)
Outlaw races are held in high regard as dangerous, illegal, and underground. They are the most hardcore races to enter, and have quite the opposite morals of your standard high grade races. These races aggression is favored, and injuries and scars are a sign of a good racer. Outlaw races have a different tier set than official races.
