The information sources below are a starting point for the coaches deciding if we should go out on the river. Ultimately, the coaches know our stretch of the river and will make a decision including their local knowledge.
We also consult weather sites e.g. bbc.co.uk/weather, https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/ and lightning maps https://www.lightningmaps.org/
We look at the ENVIRONMENT AGENCY feed which is updated daily by the lock keepers.
We use SHOOTHILL GAUGES to monitor the river levels at Marlow and flow. at Maidenhead. https://www.gaugemap.co.uk/#
This is the river level at Marlow Lock Downstream, it is updated every four hours
We look at Reading flow (upstream of us) and Maidenhead (downstream) of us for information. Note Maidenhead flow can be impacted by the Jubilee River which starts from here.
