The RGS Rowing History Project documenting the club and its achievements since 1955 can be found here.
https://rgsrowing.starter3ua.preservica.com/portal/en-GB
Each section tells the history of the club in the words of the boys and coaches at the time using original materials from the Old Wycombiensians, news papers, websites from the time and memories. The history took six years to compile and contains as full a report of activities as possible. The history goes up to the summer of 2022, the last year is in progress and we will continue to add to it. Because of the format, we can add to it and improve it as time progresses.
Did you know that:
We represented twice England in the Home Internationals?
We twice represented GB in the J16 GB vs France match?
We had a boat named after Baldrick, Tony Robinson’s character in Blackadder and Tony sent us a letter?
The first competitive crew, a four, contained a rower called Andrew MacTavish who went onto be the Head Master at John Hampden School!?
The BBC Medical Correspondent Fergus Walsh, who appeared on the News almost nightly during COVID rowed at RGS.
