Intro to the RFVerse
Intro to the RFVerse
Now that I have accomplished achieving my college graduation, we come to that dreaded question: what now? Slowly and surely, in some way shape or form, I'm going to brute force the creation of what I am, for now in a vain sense, calling the RFVerse. All the properties, characters, concepts, ideas, etc all share a universe, existing in the same reality and opening themselves to crossing over down the line. Inspired heavily by SNK's King of Fighters utilizing their own IPs in Ikari Warriors, Art of Fighting, and Fatal Fury to name a few, I wanted to weave together a fitting and cohesive narrative. All roads taken or via detours led to the outpour of every idea I have had noodling around in my head for over a decade.
Below are the current ongoing projects I have at the moment, in addition to other side projects I'll concoct I have to divide my time with. I've provided the synopses of each of the main projects
I aim to find potential in everything I have created to this point, reworking old into something new and hopefully much better. Gonna make younger me proud I've got this far.
The Earth has been overrun by otherworldly beings, unleashing hell, ravaging and toppling multiple countries. The rest of the world has united to repel these supernatural entities. A member of the Battalion OPs, Rory, fights on the frontlines with his comrades Nolan McKormick, Deacon Hill, and Giselle Wattson to repel these monsters. This threat: The demonic hellspawn Nero, leading his inner circle of generals, and mass armies of otherworldly monsters, who all rifted in from another dimension.
Rory and his allies fight valiantly with little to no backup from the Battalion Ops as their forces have stretched thin all over the world. Nero and his henchmen defeat them, forcing their retreat amid the chaos. Rory is severely injured, on the brink of death, but is saved by a nomad, Rin Tonba, hailing from a mysterious, yet powerful background. The encounter unlocks his innate ability of electrokinesis which could help even the odds against Nero’s hellfire.
A year has passed, and Earth is almost under Nero’s fist, as he has maintained vast control over the planet, with few countries barely surviving or under watch by the demon king’s enforcers. The Battalion Ops has all, but given up, though Rory’s comrades still run underground rebel sects in a bitter struggle to take back Earth. Rory and Rin return to dire circumstances, rallying his allies in a last ditch effort to fight back against Nero.
However, other forces and parties become intertwined in the global conflict. Beings from beyond the cosmos, old hatreds now revived, and wild cards thrown into the fray. Their reasons are unknown, but their being may tip the scales in favor of Earth’s saving and survival or Nero’s complete dominance.
Regardless of their seemingly unwinnable circumstances, Rory and his comrades must fight with all they can to topple Nero’s stranglehold on the planet and bring back peace to a world drowned in crimson skies.
Bill Samson is the founder and owner of the Eximius Humana, a worldwide conglomerate. Samson is an intellectual who founded the business some decades ago and built the company himself brick by brick, literally and metaphorically. He's also a renowned fighting legend, winning multiple tournaments and becoming champion of the world, until retiring 10 years ago. The prize for the tournament set up by EXI is fame and glory, with the benefits of prize money and more, though some enter to lure/confront others to settle personal vendettas.
Denizens of War Island are now at peace after nearly a century of fighting, called The Great War, reducing numbers of the continent to hundreds of thousands, for the sake of survival. Peace is fragile; however, rebuilding is slow, but assured.
In doing so, several tribes and clans who had instigated much of the conflict that ravaged the continent have been exiled or ostracized. However, some of the more recent members strive to undo the damage their ancestors had done. Undoing generations of prejudice by helping rebuild their land is an arduous task indeed. War Island’s reconstruction is led by Gaia’s father, Gilead, and key figures who ended the main conflict, such as Orro, a long-living veteran who had seen much of The Great War and also sought its end.
Months later, they are invaded by elemental warriors led by Camael, a being of untold power. Under his command, they slaughtered hundreds of civilians and warriors. Generals of many War Island tribes and clans call for parlay with Camael, who wound up killing all but two, Gaia and Orro, blinding her in one eye and taking one of Orro’s arms. Camael taunts that he will gather his best warriors and Gaia should do the same. Given a week, Gaia must assemble those willing to fight for War Island and ensure continuing peace.
Camael and his two appointed generals, a Deity of Light, Aurora, and an Agent of Darkness, Evrus, lead a specifically chosen group of elementals. Together, they seek a natural reserve that was one of The Great War’s points of contention and main areas of conflict. By combining the power he had gained in the same strange lands where he found his group of warriors, Camael seeks to transform and reshape War Island in his image, altering the physical reality at the expense of hundreds of thousands of lives.
Gaia leads a ragtag team of the remnants of War Island's population willing to put their lives on the line to quell Camael and his forces.
Founded by Rocco, Lykos, and Borp as means of income, the Hunters Guild specializes in bounty and treasure hunting, as they are their main sources of income. They are joined by Zoel, a bounty hunter on their payroll, Magdelene “Maggie”, the HG researcher/scout, Noah, the Guild cook, and Bryant, the group’s engineer. Throughout their journey, they come upon allies and adversaries as this guild climbs the ranks and gain notoriety.
The issue with increasing your guild's fame is that it attracts attention. The type of attention that reignites blood feuds and propels them to confront a destiny they choose to deny. But is fate determined by forces beyond their control or will they thread the needle and will their ambitions into existence?
People from different planets and backgrounds who became ostracized or ripped from their homes found a semblance of family by banding together to help one another achieve each other’s goals. Dire circumstances often put their dynamics at odds when opportunities arise for them to betray one another if it meant achieving said goal. They continuously tackles the never-ending “us vs them” mentalities as the group remains in a moral gray territory, teetering from one side to the other. Often do they struggle with doing what is subjectively or objectively right thing to do for the greater good. To what extend do the ends justify the means? To what and whose standards does one's goals outweigh the goals of another?
On another world parallel to Earth lies the land of Mag, full of colorful characters where our protagonists Flare & Astro, rookie professional wrestlers, call home. As the duo become tag champions, they learn of a conspiracy that aims to drain Mag of its natural resources and subject its people to labor exploitation when the promotion is bought out and merged with a larger company known as GOL (Greedy OverLords). They are unceremoniously fired and quickly replaced with bland, soulless replacements. The eager, fiery hothead and the plucky and fearless loudmouth team up to bring down GOL and rebuild and expand their promotion.
A goober who has created a service as literal cleaners of refuse/litter and as security at low-risk places, willing to take any work and meager pay just to get by. Juice is a rather insignificant person going with the chaotic flow of the universe, who sometimes unfortunately finds himself at odds and right place, right time or wrong place, wrong time. Though he daydreams of glory and yearns for a bigger purpose, he becomes content as he witnesses events: some as a passive observer, some he unwittingly becomes a key player. In his journey, Juice is confronted by all aspects of society and life, being pitted against inward and outward forces.
