Some Ancient Elemental Dragons, Ancient and new Gods were able to cast spells that would bond to the living beings. The descendants sometimes also carried the spell, some passively and others actively. The spells can also spread, if so the caster wishes.
Spell: something seen as positive, for both the one who carries it and the ones who surround them. / Arcane Energy used as an Attack in battle.
Curses: something seen as negative, as it damages the one who carries it and the ones who surround them.
Scardehel’s Wildcat - CURSE
Affects: Humanoids
A curse that was casted by the God of Life and War. Determined to prolong their subjects’ lives so that they could keep fighting and living, Scardehel casted a spell that would allow them to feed directly on the Arcane Energy of other beings through their blood.
The cursed can survive even normally fatal wounds (as long as their head is intact), if they can store enough Arcane Energy. They can also prolong their own lifespan for centuries, as long as they are well fed.
If the curse bearer doesn’t feed for more than a week, their body starts to weaken, and they can be killed far more easily. Their temperature drops, as does their heartbeat, similar to a dragon going into a deep slumber.
Appearance: Eyes glow (Teal colored) when enraged.
To feed they grow a set of hollowed fangs, similar to needles, which are connected to the throat, allowing the blood and the Arcane Energy to pass and reach the stomach. These long fangs fold against the roof of the mouth when closed and swing forward when striking/biting.
Inside the stomach, there is a small organ that stores the extra Arcane Energy, used then to give strength and healing injuries of the curse bearer. This organ is similar to an Arcane Core, but unless filled, it looks hollow and its light is dim. The scholars call it “Wildcat’s Arcane Pouch”.
Spreading conditions:
As it is a curse carried through the blood, the affected ones must share their own blood with other humanoids, usually by making the other person drink it.
The ones that carry this curse are infertile.
Curse of Fear - CURSE
Affects: Kashi'Kaira
In their legends, the Kashi'Kaira were descendants of an ancient dragon, worshiping them. The ancient dragon's brother, jealous of their sibling, cursed the Kashi'Kairas, so that they would never be able to lay eyes on their beloved ancestor, their eyes causing terror and even death, forcing them to cover them with masks.
As Kashi'Kaira grow from Hatchlings to Adolescents, their eyes slowly start to turn black, until they are fully covered. At this point, the curse is in full effect, and looking in the eyes directly can kill the victim. Survivers report a life long terror haunting them.
To avoid this, the Kashi'Kaira start wearing mask, usually self made from natural materials, the designs getting more intricate as they age, reworking their masks over and over.
Appearance: Completely black iris and sclera (fully when adult, when the curse is active)
Spreading condition: Only Kashi'Kairas are affected by this curse (their children, as long as of different species, will not be affected). As the curse resides in the eyeball, if those are removed (through injury or by replacing them with Mechanical Eyes) the Kashi'Kaira can live without their mask.
