Natural Mutations are rare (5%), but can happen in any breeding. The Mutations can be changed with a Cursed Tablet (geno only item).
The Mutations do not have a defined appearance, as you can edit the base as you like while following the mutation description.
NATURAL MUTATIONS
Can randomly rolled in any breeding.
The Kai can have from 4 to 8 eyes, that can appear anywhere on the body. The eyes should keep the same size and trait, but can change color.
The perfect spies.
The Kai will have two or three heads (with the same traits). The secondary heads can have different colored skin/eyes/keratin, and even different marking shapes (like Masked appearing on the jaw of head 1 and on the snout of head 2)
A cursed being or a benevolent one? Twice the heads, twice the chaos!
Cerberus Familiar: The pups have a 5% chance to hatch with a Cerberus Mutation.)
The Kai will grow coral-like spines on the body. Can be any color that would be natural for a coral (can also follow Keratin rules).
Blessed or not, this type of mutation often is loved by any marine creature. If a Kai lies in shallow water, fishes and other small critters will swim near them, as they will feel safe between the coral-like spines.
Crystals sprout from the skin of the Kai, shiny and sometimes even glowing. The crystals can be any color and have gradients/different colors. This mutation may cover up to 50% of the base. It can also look like the body has cracks (also in the lineart) and the crystals form from within.
The Arcane Energy escapes from the body, solidifying in crystals. Hard to break, they are quite the useful armour.
Changes the head of the Kai to a skull. Any animal skull can be chosen for the design. The skull can "cover" the whole head or be partially formed (like a skeletal jaw for example). Ears are often hidden.
A mutation connected to the God of Chaos and Death. It happens when the Kai in the eggs dies, but somehow... it still lives.
Deathcallers are often cold to the touch, with barely perceptible heartbeat and breathing. They are usually quite calm, and unable to digest normal food.
To survive, they need fresh Arcane Circuits and Nuclei, often torn from the flesh of living beings.
A random mutation that removes the eyes. You can erase the eyes (leaving the eyebrow) or erase and add a few lines for where the eye sockets would be.
An unlucky mutation, as the Kai will lose the sight.
A mutation that adds feathers on the Kai. You can choose to cover the Kai in feathers, also altering mane, fur and tail, or to add just some.
The feathers may follow the base coat rules or be a more saturated (or Neon) color.
Seen as a good omen, this mutation is often seen in cold areas, where the warm feathers will keep the Kai safe.
The Kai can have aquatic finned growing from anywhere of the body. They can be semi transluscent fish fins, as well as more solid ones like from a whale or ray.
A mutation that adds flames erupting from the Kai's body. The flames can be any color.
Careful: Flameforged mutated pups will not know how to control the flames' temperature.
The Kai will be born with thorns or flowers/plants/leaves on their body. Can be any color.
There was once a beautiful Kailing with a red mane of flowers, who lived in Dragon's Hope. They suddenly vanished one night, and nobody had seen them since.
A mutation that allows to create horns on the head of the Kai. The horns can be two (antlers like, or similar to other horns) or singular (like a unicorn's).
The color will follow the Keratin rules.
It is said that the Ancient Elemental Dragons had great horns. Maybe their blood flows strong inside this Kai.
Unicorn Familiar: The pups have a +5% chance to hatch with a Horned Mutation.
The Kai produces ink like a squid from their skin. The black ink can stain the fur or dribble down the body in droplets.
A writer's best friend.
The Kai's flesh turns into liquid, that can move at will. The organs and bones can be visible, if the liquid is clear enough. (No more than 50% of the Kai can be affected by the mutation).
An ancient Curse, that sometimes manifests on some unlucky pups. Apparently, a long time ago an Ancient Water Dragon cursed the progenie of a rival, having the little fire breathing beasts turn into puddles.
The tail of the Kai is split into multiple ones (from 2 to 9), like a Kitsune. The tails can follow the normal base rules, or be colored white, silver or gold.
Bringer of mischief and good luck, the Kai hatched with a Kitsune tail often finds jobs at various Temples and churches.
Kitsune Familiar: The pups have a 5% chance to hatch with a Kitsune Mutation.
The Kai will hatch with a fluffy mane, similar to a lion's.
It can also be shaped in different ways, but it may only affect the Neck and the Body of the Kai. (Cheek fluff and elbow fluff can be added). The Maned mutation can follow the base coat rules or the normal mane ones.
Always very regal, to the point that lots of nobles would pay their weight in gold just to have them roam their homes.
Gryphon Familiar: The pups have a + 5% chance to hatch with a Maned Mutation
The Kai can be covered in mushrooms (can be a single species or multiple on one import). The mushroom mutation can alter also the limbs, head and tail (for example, it could appear like a clicker from the Last of Us).
Silent, clicking and chirping. Often sighted in the Dead Mage's forest, where they can roam without fear of being hunted.
The Kai is born with glowing thunder-like veins on their body. The lighting can be any color, and it may have a fading edge or sparkling effect.
Plasma can cover around 50% of the Kai and can "cluster" where the lightning struck. Plasma may also look like a deep scar (that can alter the lineart), while keeping the glowing/sparkling appearance.
It is said that the Plasma mutation first appeared when an egg struck by a thunder hatched, revealing a perfectly healthy pup.
An ancient sickness taking hold of the body, causing glowing tumors and tentacle like growths to cover the body. Legends say that eggs touched by a decaying god will hatch with it.
The rot can glow either in the elemental color, or basecoat color.
The Kai can grow insect parts like mandibles, horns and keratin armor. It can also alter the tail, changing it to a scorpion one.
It can be any color, and have a metallic or rainbow shining.
Not very loved by many, but incredibly resilient in fights
The Kai will grow snakes on their body, usually attached to the tail and mane. The snakes do not eat, but can bite and sometimes, even have venom in their fangs.
The Serpens mutation is a quite peculiar one, as no Kai is the same: some have full controll of the snake appendages, thinking of them like an extra limb, while others can feel their snake move on their own, as if they have each a personality and a fully functioning brain.
Similar to Flameforged, the Kai emits smoke from its body. The smoke can be black/white/gray, be realistic or "cartoonish"/Painted.
The first Smoke mutated Kai appeared after a wildfire burned down their home in the forest. The pup stumbled out of the ashes, smoking, and never stopped.
A mutation that makes the normal eyes small and semi-closed, but adds a large third eyes in the middle of the forehead.
It is said that the Kai "Blessed" with this mutation can see the past and the future.
As they are rare, it is unknown if this is the truth.
Adds a pair (or two) of wings to the Kai. The wings can be feathered like a bird, leathery or even insect ones. They can also be a mix of the two.
Minimal shading is allowed, the wings will follow the rules of the base (will count as a Body/Limbs section)
Big enough to fly in most cases. It is said that they were the blessing of an Ancient Elemental Dragon to their flightless children, so that they could soar in the sky once more.
Hippogryph Familiar: The pups have a +5% chance to hatch with a Winged Mutation.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT MUTATIONS
These mutations only show up when special requirements are met, but have a higher chance (15%)
Inbreeding mutations have double the chance to appear (30%) but inbreeding can also lead to rotting eggs (the pup will never hatch).
The Kai will have two genotypes (the second one will be rolled after the mut). As real life chimeras, the Kai can appear perfectly split in two (only the left side of the design is needed) or completely mixed, with patches of the different genotypes.
A rare occasion: two pups were in the same egg, but somehow they fused into a single one.
Requirement: Breeding only (cannot be applied)
The Kai will have both their parent's elements. If the parents have the same element, a grandparent's one can be selected.
Requirement: both parents in breeding need to be S Rank.
The Kai can have two additional basecoat colors picked, aside the geno's color. The colors can come from different section of the same Base, or be from three different Bases.
The three Colors go as large gradient from top to bottom or front to back.
Requirement: both parents in breeding need to have a special (combo) coat.
REQUIREMENTS: INBREEDING
The eyes will appear fully white or have a white layer over the normal pupil, with arcane circuits veining over the eyeballs, slight arcane energy in form of smoke pouring out.
Requirement: both parents in breeding need to be related, causing inbreeding.
Allows for body parts of an absorbed twin to show. Can be smaller head/limbs to grow out of the body, a lump with teeth/claws, an eerily body shaped tumor, or two faces.
Requirement: both parents in breeding need to be related, causing inbreeding + one of the twins of the clutch need to be dead from inbreeding.
The Kai will have a small under-developed body. The body can be shrunken a maximum of 50%. Lineart will need to be relined, as just shrinking the import will make lines blurry. The lines can be edited slightly to change body proportions (E.g. a shorter snout, bigger paws).
Requirement: both parents in breeding need to be related, causing inbreeding.
This mutation will cause none-weightbearing limbs to appear smalle and underdeveloped, E.g. the 2nd leg pair of a Kaiyume, or the wings or arms of a Morikai.
Requirement: both parents in breeding need to be related, causing inbreeding.
REQUIREMENTS: EXPLORE DROP
The Cursed Tower corrupts the Kai, shaping their body to appear terrificant and similar to an undead monster...
Muscles showing (skin missing), twisted/weirdly shaped wings growing instead of the secondary pair (or misshapen wings on who has wings already). Can have the jaws splitting and an elongated tongue. +4 ATK
Requirement: 10% drop rate from Exploring Cursed Tower.
Losing your way on the Arcane Spear is easy. But sometimes, a gentle spirit will lead the way, saving your life.
Applies a semi-transparent Spirit on the import. Can be any animal, Familiar or even Humanoids/Kais. No Dragons or species from other games/media/Arpgs. +4 AR. ATK
Requirement: 10% drop rate from Exploring Arcane Spear.
HEREDITARY MUTATIONS
These mutations can be naturally passed down from parent to offspring (20% chance to be passed down).
The Kai grows long thin whiskers, with glowing bulbs at their ends.
Known Carrier: -

The keratin can appear semi-transparent (or totally transparent). Teeth too. As the Kai's temperature is subzero, the whole body (or the mouth) can have a slight mist effect.
Known Carrier: -
The body turns see-through, making bones and organs visible. Can be fully glass-like, or more opaque to only show vague shapes.
Known Carriers: Proserpina 0078

Usually the color of the Kai's Element. The "planets" can also have Arcane Circuits on them, like real Arcane Cores.
Known Carrier: [S-T: Special] Silverfox 0188
The keratin on a Kai's body is naturally longer, E.g. longer spikes, claws, plates.
Known Carrier: -
Makes the inside of a Kai glow. It can affect ther mouth, inner ears, keratin, scars/blood, as well as the eyes (unlike glowing eye trait, these eyes will still have the pupil/shape of their trait).

Usually appreciated by jewelry makers, as the plates can shed and fall from the Kai over time.
Shape wise, the stone plates can appear similar to scales or with a more natural stone appearance.
