“THE BEST TEACHERS COACH THEIR STUDENTS AND THE BEST COACHES ARE GREAT TEACHERS."
- GRANT TEAFF
TEACHING EXPERIENCE OVERVIEW:
I have taught the following courses:
8th Grade Math at HF Stevens Middle School in Crowley ISD (1 Year)
7th Grade Science at Chisholm Trail Middle School in Northwest ISD (2 Years)
On-Level Chemistry at Northwest High School (2 Years)
Forensic Science at Northwest High School and Keller Central High School (4 Years)
Middle School Physical Education and Pre-Athletics at Bridgeport Middle School (2 Years)
High School Physics at Ponder HS (1 Year)
A few notable teaching accomplishments:
Campus lead of the Forensic Science course in CTE: Health Sciences department at Northwest and Keller Central.
When taking over the Forensic program at Northwest and Keller Central, I started with less than 100 students signed up in the course and grew the program to over 150 students. Both campuses had to add additional courses and teachers to the course in order to accommodate the growth.
Helped develop Forensic Science curriculum, labs and assessments for Northwest and Keller ISD.
Completed Human Burial Recovery Workshop at Sam Houston State University in 2019.
Managed and tracked all course inventory and purchase orders for our campus.
Implemented various forms of technology in courses: Canvas, Moodle, Interactive Notebooks, Flipgrid, Adobe Spark, Google Assignments, Quizizz, Quizlet, etc.
Developed Middle School Physical Education curriculum for Bridgeport ISD.
CANVAS/MOODLE PLAYLIST:
Units were set up with a daily “Playlist”
Inside each “Playlist” there is a description for what students are to complete during the class period.
Completion tracking (indicated by the green check mark) allows students to see what days are finished.
HYPERLINKED PLANNING CALENDAR:
Hyperlinked calendar shows all links of activities for each day
Allows for easy access for teachers and students
Deadlines and assignments are color coded for students to know how activities will be graded
Great tool for teachers to be able to collaborate and plan each grading period
INTERACTIVE NOTEBOOKS:
Interactive Notebooks were used for each unit of study
Traditional notebooks had been used in the past, but this allowed us a creative option to use during COVID restrictions
Each Notebook contained links to assignments and additional resources to help students gain access to information
Periodic Notebook checks are given prior to unit testing
