HOW WE COACH AND WIN:
1. POSITIVE - We all respond better to positive reinforcement than negative. Coach on the run during practice. Attack the play rather than the player. Never, never let a player go home on a negative note.
2. MODEL - Be what you want and expect your players to be! Be positive, enthusiastic, and poised. Hustle everywhere you go! You set the tempo, not them. If we have a bad practice, look first at yourself. What coaches do in moderation, players do in excess.
3. COMPASSIONATE - There is a fine line between tearing down and challenging. Your athletes know when you sincerely care about them. One of the greatest ways to show care and concern for players is time. Time after practice, games, and times supporting them at their other sports will break through the toughest shell.
4. EMPOWER - Get after kids, but build them up. Be an encourager! Give them respect. Praise them. Let them know you admire them. Do your best to instill confidence in them.
5. DEMAND - Never let a player loaf! This is the magic ingredient. Also remember this, you are either coaching it or allowing it to happen. High expectations lead to great growth.
