DMR Maintenance

Overview

Periodically, the Dark Matter Reactor may require fuel replacement, system updates, or necessary repairs, as nothing is flawless. In such instances, the Dark Matter Reactor is transitioned into maintenance mode, an offline state that enables essential maintenance tasks to be carried out without fully suspending operations. Among these tasks, maintenance on the core superstructure holds utmost importance, as the proper functioning of the DMR is crucial to prevent potential catastrophes. For this purpose, direct access to the superstructure is conveniently available on the left side of the chamber via the maintenance lift.

Fuel cell replacement

While the Dark Matter Reactor boasts incredible power and energy capabilities, it's important to note that it relies on Dark Matter fuel cells, an energy source over a billion times more energy-dense than coal. Nevertheless, these fuel cells are not limitless and necessitate replacement through maintenance procedures. Once the average fuel cell level drops below 20%, it allows the activation of maintenance mode, permitting the unlocking and replacement of the 3 fuel cells.

To replace a fuel cell, you have several options. You can obtain a replacement fuel cell from the Hadron Collider in the Alpha-5 Laboratory in Sector A, from the cargo depot in the Tartarus zone, or, for a more convenient but costlier option, purchase one from the store for Robux. Alternatively, you can patiently wait for approximately 10 minutes for the cells to be automatically replaced by the server, do note that the power can go out if the generators are out of fuel.

Once you have a replacement fuel cell, proceed to the Dark Matter Reactor superstructure using the access elevator located on the left of the entrance airlock. Identify a fuel cell receptacle that requires a replacement and initiate the process by pulling the lock switch down to release the depleted fuel cell. Then, insert the fresh fuel cell into the slot by holding it over the empty slot. Once inserted, push the lever back into the locked position. Repeat this process for all the fuel cells to complete the fuel cell replacement. Be sure to exit the combustion chamber before DMR startup begins, unless you want to be turned into fried chicken as a macrowave dinner.

Repairing structural breaches

When the temperature of the Dark Matter Reactor surpasses 3500K, the core pressure reaches a critical threshold, leading to a deterioration of the superstructure's integrity and the formation of structural breaches. This situation is highly undesirable, and it is of utmost importance to address and repair these breaches promptly.

Structural breaches can be addressed whenever although its suggested to address it during maintenance mode.  which is initiated when fuel cell levels fall below 20%. It's worth noting that it would be advisable for maintenance mode to be activated when the superstructure integrity drops below 50% while the temperature is in a safe range like 2800°K or 2200°K.

To repair a breach, locate a breach, Approach the breach, and you will receive a repair prompt by pressing the 'E' key. Continue to hold 'E' until the structural breach is fully repaired. Remember that structural breaches may appear at various points on the DMR, so it's essential to thoroughly inspect and repair any breaches you encounter, rather than addressing just one and considering the task complete. it is possible to do it multiple times but you only get the achievement and electrons once.
