Although we advertise the event on local calendars and forums, nothing is as effective as your social media to get your people excited and coming out to enjoy this creative event.

You will know best how to motivate your friends and followers, but here are some ideas I hope you will find useful. 

I have found it takes several nudges to get people's attention. It continues to amaze me how many Portola Valley people I meet who did not know this arts fest happened last year in spite of 22 postings to our town forum across four months. With that in mind, this is a bare minimum. 

Take it as is, edit with abandon, use it as a prompt or do your own thing entirely. 

The important thing is to do. 

If each of us tells everybody we know, the turnout will be amazing!

On September 14th, I will be showing at a funky, little event in Portola Valley that I think you will enjoy. I am excited for you to see my new work in this beautiful setting. The PV Arts Fest exists in a unique place between other events you may have attended -- more home-spun and intimate than your average town art festival, and yet it is full of wonderful artists of a higher caliber than your average community art event. It is both a place to buy and to simply celebrate the arts. It showcases arts of all kinds, but at its core, it is an expression of our creative connections to each other. I think you will have fun and hope to see you there.

"Save the date"

Save the date! On September 14th, 10:00-5:00, I am going to be participating in an arts festival I think you will enjoy. The Portola Valley Arts Fest exists in a unique place between other events you may have attended. It is more home-spun and intimate than your average town art festival, and yet it is of a higher quality than your average community art event. It brings people together to celebrate the creativity of their communities. I will have a booth for sales, but you will also find a group exhibition, kids’ art activities, author readings, music, and tasty food. Please join me at this unique event. I hope to see you there.

"One-month-away"

The Portola Valley Arts Fest is coming up next month. Mark your calendar for September 14th, 10:00-5:00. I have a lot of new art I would like to share with you, and over 30 other artists’ will have their work on display. There will be beautiful art for sale, but this event is in its heart first about creativity. There is a group exhibition which is a mixture of work from professional artists’, talented amateurs and promising students from the area. You can also make art alongside kids at the activities tables. There is so much creativity to celebrate. Come have some fun.

"Next week"

Summer is not over! Let’s keep the celebration going at the Portola Valley Arts Fest next Saturday from 10:00-5:00. Little Sky Bakery will have sweet treats and the beach balls will be back for those of you with kids who want to let off some steam running in the field. And then there is all that beautiful art. You will want to see everything. Come join the fun.

"Tomorrow"

The Arts Fest is tomorrow from 10:00 to 5:00.  I invite you to a lovely day wandering beneath the redwoods in the grounds of the Ladera Community Church and enjoying all the art on display. Taste wines from local vineyards or a refreshing lemonade while the red tailed hawks circle above. Portola Valley’s peace and beauty is a wonderful setting for the creativity of the community.
