Arts Fest Overview
🟡 The Arts Fest runs from 10:00 to 5:00, September 14, 2024. 🟡
The Portola Valley Arts Fest exists in a unique place between other events you may have attended. It is more home-spun and intimate than your average town art festival, and yet it is of a higher quality than your average community art event since many local, professional artists are on display. It is a festival of the arts, but at its core, it is an expression of our creative connections to each other. Come catch up with friends, do some art activities, hear local authors read their work, buy a painting or maybe just kick beachballs with your toddler in the field under the redwoods and relax with local wine and food.
The Arts Fest is an evolving event, each year the offerings are a little different, but in past years you could find these at the event:
Booths where you could enjoy and purchase the work of 30 artists
A group exhibition where you could see the work of 16 additional local visual artists
A book shop/reading area with books from 7 local authors
A performance of music and literary readings with discussion
Food trucks and local wine
Community-focused art activities
Location (3300 Alpine Rd.)
🗺The location is excellent. The event will take place entirely out of doors. It is just a couple of minutes from 280 with ample parking, easy access to ATMs, food, etc. along the primary corridor the town’s residents use to reach home and weekend adventurers use for biking and hiking.
🗺The location is free. The Ladera Community Church is generously allowing us use of their front courtyard and grounds, facilities and tables, chairs, etc., no strings attached. The church leaders and their congregation are lovers of the arts and creatives in their own right. This is an entirely non-religious event.
🗺The exhibition space is the front grounds of the church: two extra-wide, welcoming pathways encircling a sunken courtyard separated by a simple garden and surrounded by trees and the church and the large parking lot to the front. It should be a very pleasant place to spend the day.
Who is going to be there?
💃🏻🕺🏾The Arts Fest is a mixture of Creative ⭕️ Circle members and a few curated artists from the area to round out the group -– writers, singers, songwriters, painters, photographers, potters, glass artists, metal smiths, fiber artists, jewelers, woodworkers, gardeners… a seriously creative circle of folks! They are talented, committed practitioners of quality. Here are some images from some of the artists who participated in previous years.
