Project Sora

Tracking Sora Movements

Sora Rails congregate at Jug Bay in the hundreds during the fall, giving researchers at Patuxent River Park an excellent opportunity to study these mysterious marsh birds. Utilizing transmitters that weigh less than a dime (1.5 grams) and the Motus Wildlife Tracking System, we are discovering the migration routes of these little-studied birds. Learn more about the project here.
