FEMA Independent Study 

The Independent Study Program (ISP) is an online distance learning program offered through NDEMU to those with emergency management responsibilities and the general public. It serves as both an alternate means to deliver valuable training to the professional and volunteer emergency management community, and an opportunity to improve public awareness & promote disaster preparedness nationally. Independent Study courses are structured to meet the needs of this diverse audience with an emphasis on how the various elements work together in emergencies to save lives and protect property.

• IC-100 (IS-100.c): Introduction to Incident Command System, I-100

• IC-200 (IS-200.c): for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents

• IC-700 (IS-700.b): National Incident Management System (NIMS), An Introduction

• IS-800.D: National Response Framework, An Introduction

• IS-909: Community Preparedness: Implementing Simple Activities for Everyone - not required for ARES® but good to know!
