Brexit and Local Communities - A London study

EU funding plays a significant role in support for local communities, both through the voluntary sector and public agencies. The effects at ground level are in danger of being overlooked in the national debate about Brexit and its aftermath. We are seeking your views on questions like:

What will be the effect on communities and the organisations which serve them if and when this funding ceases?

What difference might a ‘hard’ or ‘soft’ Brexit make?

What other factors will be affected, such as relationships with European networks and expertise?

How can the organisations that have benefited from this funding prepare for the possible changes?

What should government, local government and other agencies do to make good any damage?

London MEP Jean Lambert is so concerned that she has commissioned a study to highlight the issue and marshal evidence. To our knowledge this is the first study of this kind. Other regions are likely to be just as concerned.
