This page is a retelling of the History of Avo.
Before Avo became a settled country, the Krin were governed by the Krenchis of Nova-Nami, having been chased from their dark tundra homeland and forced northeastward towards the ever-cloudy coastline.
It was The Heroes of Avo that found the mountainous region and decided to bring their people to it's easily defensible peaks. Luckily the Krin were not the only creatures there at the time, and the Krenchis of Xe'en were kind enough to help the Krin settle the land- Building staircase-like farms on the sides of mountains and teaching them how to harness their mana into helpful magical abilities.
The First Hero was a Krindry, intelligent but arrogant.
The Second was a Krinpurr of incredible strength, with a short temper to match her short stature.
The Third was a Krindrake with keen eyes but too shy to say much.
The Fourth was a Kringeode of unmatched speed, and a heart too big for their own good.
The Fifth was a Krinviper of culinary genius, but clumsy as ever.
The Sixth was a Krinwild, and their nature would be their undoing.
'Dry took to the Mountains, 'Purr to the Coast, 'Drake to the Skies, 'Geode to the Dustbowl, and 'Viper to the Forests.
But the Sixth? They climbed the highest peak, alone.
Once their settlements had grown, Nova Nami had demanded Avo submit to their control, wanting this newfound land for themselves.
The Five brought their people together to fight in the great Avoian War of Independence- But it was not enough.
They were stronger with their magic, but Nova Nami had more troops, more ships, more weapons... The Heroes would need to locate their Krinwild comrade at the tallest peak in Avo- "Xandio's Grace".
At the top of the peak, the clouds swirled ominously around their friend's long extended neck as they sat calmly with their claws in their lap.
The First braved the Peak and stood up to peek through the clouds and dragged their friend's head down to the safety of the dark.
The Sixth's face was distorted... Dry, Cracked, Melted, Deformed...
They smiled, eyes cloudy from staring into The Eye of Xandio.
"I have so much to tell you." They said with a rough voice, rusty from lack of use.
On that peak they spoke of their Wisdom, and it terrified the Five.
'Viper bandaged their friend's face and 'Purr carried them down the mountain.
Once in the Castle of the First, they all drew up a plan. One final battle to drive back the Nova Nami troops.
The Heroes took to The Outskirts and called upon every mage and every student to fight alongside them... But they asked The Sixth to stay behind. 'Too dangerous' they said, 'You are much too weak' they said.
They were losing.
It was not enough, even with their tactics and magic there were just too many on the opposing side. Their warships fired lasers that cut through ice-shields like a knife to paper. Their bullets flew straight through fireballs and lightning to strike the mages behind the powerful spells.
The Sixth stepped forward.
The First cried out to them, 'Run away! Fall back!'
The Second tried to push them out of the way...
The Third could only watch...
The Fourth ran as fast as they could to stop them...
The Fifth began preparing their medicinal herbs...
And The Sixth took off their face.
What lay under was a visage too horrible to remember, yet never forgotten by the Five.
The magic that poured out of their cracked center was wild... Chaotic.
It tore the very fabric of reality around them.
Thousands were lost on both sides, but Nova Nami's forces retreated.
The First took the twisted hand of the Sixth and led them away- Hiding them deep in the bowels of their Castle in Lantern City- There they grew close with one another, but their relation with the other Heroes grew tense.
The other Four grew resentful of the leeway given to the Sixth for their deadly outburst- It wasn't fair how the Sixth could get away with causing so much carnage, and still get to live luxuriously in a Palace under the care of Avo's new King.
'Viper would call the Heroes together for a celebratory feast after 'Dry's coronation.
'Drake noticed the group's tired eyes and weakened limbs. 'Geode tried to drum up some fun, but dancing around with only two limbs could only get them so far. 'Purr was visibly angry, staring daggers at 'Dry as they flaunted around his newfound royalty and let it slip that the Sixth was carrying the 'next generation' of Avoian Royalty.
'Purr would explode in anger and demand that 'Dry have the Sixth banished and 'Drake would agree quietly, stating the danger of the magic that The Sixth held. 'Geode tried to barter for The Sixth's redemption, but 'Viper pointed out that The Sixth was the reason 'Geode could no longer run.
They argued late into the night, and nobody noticed their absence until the Sixth was long gone.
The First was panicked and called for a nation-wide search for their Queen, while the Fourth knew where to look.
'Geode climbed up the Peak and saw a familiar figure meditating with their head above the clouds.
They sat down next to The Sixth.
They brought their head above the clouds-
And they Saw.
The Fourth and the Sixth spoke together on the Peak until the Others arrived.
'Dry tried to get 'Wild to come back, but she just smiled, and handed him a bundle of Kits.
Then, 'Wild opened a crack in reality and stepped through, never to be seen again.
In the King's rage, he used a spell to silence 'Geode, making sure they could never speak of what 'Wild told them again.
'Purr called for the Banishment of all Krinwilds, and 'Drake saw to it that all Kits showing signs of Chaos magic were brought to The King.
'Viper would host mass Funerals for every lost life in the Avoian War of Independence, and turned the sorrow into a yearly Celebration of Avo's founding. 'Dry would train all Chaotic Kits and Pups to bury their magic, deep down inside them, so it can never be used again to hurt anyone.
'Geode left Avo first, angry with how the Heroes treated the situation.
'Viper left to look for Geode in Nova-Nami.
'Drake left to Xe'en after the first Princess had shown signs of Chaos magic.
'Purr left to the Outskirts to work on the Avo / Nova-Nami Ice-Wall Border.
'Dry withered away as the years went on, alone and stressed. He died, and his eldest and most mature Daughter became the new Queen.
Nobody knows if the other Heroes are even still alive
It is said that if the Heroes could be reunited, they could bring back the souls of the original King and Queen-
Bringing Avo into a new prosperous age for eons to come!
Avo still retains positive relations with Xe'en, and still trades with Nova Nami for resources- Although immigration to either country is strictly forbidden by the current ruling Queen due to petty tensions between the current Royal Family of Xe'en and the Citadel of Nova Nami.
Travel to Xe'en from Avo is quite common, and many schools still take class field trips to Xe'en's capitol city to learn about different cultures.
