Reading
During this unit scholars explore different relationships. They will discover how we can learn more about ourselves from our family and friends. The books in this unit were selected because they all have a strong theme of being yourself. Multiple books are focused on a lesson the character learned at school or with their family, perfect for the beginning of the year! This unit will push scholars to name and describe themselves in multiple ways. They will also learn about how they help others be who they are. The read aloud selection for this unit is all fiction because these books are the best fit for this unit. These books will set a strong foundation for engaging and meaningful texts that scholars can connect with.
