Overview 

PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) is about building effective environments that teach and encourage positive behavior in order to replace negative behavior. Instead of responding to bad behavior with punishment, PBIS uses prevention, consistency, and positive reinforcement to help change behavior. The overall goal of PBIS is to help all students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. By encouraging healthy behaviors in students, this helps to foster a safe, supportive learning environment. Schools also use data to monitor student behavior and decisions based on these results to improve the overall atmosphere of the school.
