1. Identify the Behavior 

Observe and note the behavior clearly 

2. Determine the Severity

• Minor: Managed by the teacher in the classroom

• Major: Requires a referral to administration 

3. Respond Appropriately

• Minor: Redirect, reteach, and document it if it keeps happening

• Major: Complete an office referral, provide documentation, and contact parents/admin. 

4. Monitor & Analyze

Track incidents to detect ongoing trends affecting the student.

5. Teach & Reinforce Expectations

Reinforce positive behavior and revisit expectations.
