Hangata is a world that thrums with magic, both stolen, and in low quantities, its own.
You are welcome to start with magic that can be used ICly in an RP sense, magic that effects rolls will have to be earned.
Furthermore, Hangata is a parasitic planet which consumes magic, those able to bend it to their will are actually quite a rarity.
Powers are not necessary to start with. But in the event that your character would start with one, please mind this guide.
We approach the starter powers of characters who are magically inclined on a highly case by case basis, as a general rule if it's simple or basic, or a small power, there's no issue; elemental powers that start off somewhat weak are another good example of appropriate magic.
As you play the game you will gain opportunities for your character to learn magic, regardless of whether they started with any, so this isn't a requirement, nor something you will lose out on by starting from nothing.
Powers that would effect the game, or the world to too large an extent, will be rejected (such as world ending or extreme reality warping). The ability to change things only the God's have power over will be cause for rejection (I.E: Fate, Luck, Death, Revival)
Powers that effect other characters are to have their use discussed with other players before you assume, or for interactions with said power to be written open ended as to give the other player agency. That said, please be mindful on both ends, it's no fun to have magic if you never get to use it, so be a good sport.
Please remember that active use magic is exceedingly rare in Hangata. If one knows spells, it's always because they were blessed by the gods or because they have actively dedicated themselves to the study of it.
