This episode was Amal and Malcijah’s debuts as the new Pass the Mic co-hosts! For their first episode, they introduced themselves and their core identities as black students with passionate commitments to social justice and equity, both from New Jersey. They discussed how they met and how they each came to Pass the Mic. They also talked about the difficulties that can come with being activists, especially when juggling college and other commitments, and the need to assert themselves and their mental health.
