On Cliff Drive I consider
The possibility
Of launching myself
Off of one
I am taunted by
The edge
“Time for a peek peek peek,”
I think.
I am greeted
By a cloudless sky
The mountain side
Hugs my tepid soul
I meet the fence and
A gentleman
We observe the tide
Together, and then we know
They chose today
The dolphins
Are in the waves
I graze graze graze
my hand
o’er the aqua sheet of silk
There I am
Sunlight gleams
Gleams gleams gleams
on me
I’m certain of the reflection
In my rusty iris
Clad in crystals
I transcend to the shimmer
Breaching
I am there
In the middle of the sea.
Suddenly, I am grateful.
