Loyola Marymount University's Center for Equity for English Learners has created online professional development modules that focus on the Doing What Works Dialogic Reading framework with an emphasis on effective practices for Dual Language Learners/English Learners (DLL/ELs).
These modules were created in part with funding from a Doing What Works Grant and were piloted with Early Childhood Education partners in the Los Angeles Unified School District, Stretch to Kindergarten (Family Engagement Institute), and two institutes of higher education (LMU and Cal State Channel Islands).
Our goal is provide two online modules that will increase knowledge and use of Dialogic Reading practices for professionals working in culturally and linguistically diverse Early Childhood Education (ECE) and Transitional Kindergarten (TK) settings.
OVERVIEW OF ONLINE MODULES
