One of the perks of being an Officer Candidate is LIBERTY! After three weeks of OCS, you start to have weekends off...but there is a catch. If all goes well, Liberty starts at noon on Saturday and ends early Sunday evening. So it's really just a little over one day. Also, duty exists, even on liberty. There are duty companies and duty platoons, which alternate. So for some of your liberties, you may have to stay back on base for a few hours.
Because of COVID, liberty may be restricted to base. If it isn't, you can go up to Woodbridge and get things you need, or socialize with other candidates. You'll have to have a liberty buddy. Most people choose their rack mates or the person next to them in the alphabet. The candidate above me in the alphabet and I were inseparable at OCS, so we were liberty buddies as a given...until she was dropped towards the end. It worked out, because she ended up commissioning in the Navy and my next liberty buddy is still one of my best friends today (she commissioned after finishing her degree).
If you are on light duty, you cannot leave the base on liberty. When this happened, light duty people usually buddied up, so that their original buddies could go run errands, and other things.
If you don't have duty, you can get a hotel! Don't abuse your liberty. Don't do things that will get you in trouble, or dropped. Stay with your buddy. Wear the appropriate liberty attire, the same attire you checked into OCS with. MAKE SURE YOU STAY IN THIS ATTIRE (unless you are literally in a hotel room).
If you leave base, TAKE YOUR ORDERS WITH YOU! You will not have a CAC yet, so you will need your orders and a photo ID.
On liberty, try to study a little, write your essays, get things you need, etc. But also make sure you go make friends, take a nice shower, and get some sleep :)
