The Super Simple Invisible Aligner Process Using Clear Removable Braces
We start the process by taking 3D impressions of your teeth. Next, those impressions are sent to a manufacturer-specific lab. Using computer technology, the lab fabricates custom-fit removable invisible aligners.
Once ready, the invisible aligners are mailed to the dentist. An appointment is then made to evaluate the aligners’ fit and suitability for the patient.
Each aligner is customized to apply pressure on the specific teeth that need to be moved in the proper order. The invisible aligners are provided in sets. The number of sets needed is determined by each individual.
The patient wears a new invisible aligner set for a specified amount of time, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. With each new set, teeth slowly adjust and gradually realign to the desired position.
During scheduled visits, the dentist will provide the next clear aligner and evaluate the progress throughout the duration of treatment. Sometimes revision aligners are requested to correct any unfinished detailing.
Treatment time with clear braces varies and depends on your individual situation. A standard prescription requires 20 to 30 aligners for the upper and lower jaws. Treatment for moderate cases requires approximately 32 steps of treatment.
The invisible braces are worn anywhere from 18 to 24 months and are sometimes worn longer.
