The Written Word
Situation: Present a personal opinion in response to a topic, where you find six texts, two of which can be oral/audio.
Discovery: Consider a topic and find some examples of writing that discuss, analyse, persuade, deter or convince you. An example of a topic could be Identity-how people want to re-shape the way they look/defy age and try to re-invent themselves through make-up or dramatic makeovers. How we as society encourage this.
Interpretation: read and identify in the writings what is being communicated e.g.: is it convincing in some way. What are your thoughts on the view that is being shared?
Ideation: Write down the view you have on each text. Do you agree or disagree? What makes you feel that way?
Experimentation: Write a draft personal response to the texts/audios
Outcome: Create a written personal response after reading a selection of text on a selected topic
