Florida Break & Meal Guidelines
Florida does not require meal or rest breaks for adult workers. Newbridge applies internal standards to ensure consistent and fair break scheduling.
For shifts worked in Florida:
There are no legally required meal or rest breaks for adult employees
Newbridge Standard:
All breaks and meals are paid. Newbridge guidelines fully define break structure in this state to maintain staff performance and prevent fatigue.
General Guidelines (Applied):
4 hours or less → No break
4.5 to 5.5 hours → 1 paid 15-minute break
6 to 6.5 hours → 2 paid 15-minute breaks + 1 paid 30-minute meal
6.5 to 7.5 hours → 1 paid 15-minute break + 1 paid 30-minute meal
8+ hours → 2 paid 15-minute breaks + 1 paid 30-minute meal
Breaks are scheduled evenly throughout the shift and should not be taken within the first or last hour.
