Objectives and impacts

Exchange and analysis of good practices

The objectives of this KA202 project are various but complementary:

- To support the creation and implementation of internationalization strategies in the vocational high schools of the Académie de Dijon and all partner organizations, in order to develop their capacity to offer learners quality mobility in a professional environment, fully integrated into their learning programme;

- To train staff and increase their skills through the exchange of practices and the setting up of work placements in Europe for apprentices;

- To select new partners and expand existing ones with the aim of building an effective and professional network;

- To prepare, secure and accompany learners and their families in a chosen, active and valued mobility by creating a European culture and a spirit of active citizenship;

- To strengthen work-based learning in Europe, which is an essential factor in increasing the employability of VET learners and facilitating their integration into the labour market;

- To increase the attractiveness of vocational training by offering periods of work placements in Europe as a ‘’pathway to excellence’’;

To promote and facilitate the link, at national and European level, between VET providers and companies.

Production and creation of resources

Based on three flows of "Test Mobilities" in European companies, the project aims to set up new procedures and tools that can be used by all the partners to promote European mobility in the workplace, such as:

- a guide to European mobility, produced for trainees and vocational training actors,

- a language test to be carried out before and after mobility for apprentices,

- a collection of exercises and typical actions from training courses or "soft skills" transfer sessions,

- a partnership charter validating the creation of the European network,

- various documents supplementing the charter for pedagogical and contractual information (legislation, bilateral work placement agreement in a European company, selection procedure for beneficiaries, assessment procedure, tutorial function, conditions for obtaining a diploma supplement, etc.),

- a communication support for the European network (flyer, logo, web page),

- a collaborative work space and transfer of results to the partners' websites.

This web page was created to give visibility to the project, and the GIP-FTLV de Bourgogne did the same, with this link available on their website.

In addition to the creation of concrete resources, the expected impact of this project will be at different levels, at local, regional and transnational levels:

- For the participating VET institutions: an opening towards the international and integration of the mobilities in their functioning, the construction of a secured network with European VET organizations and the improvement of the quality of the proposed mobilities, by building and sustaining relationships with a network of willing and committed partners;

- For the apprentices: an increased autonomy, initiative-taking and European citizenship, the acquisition of new skills and know-how, linguistic and intercultural skills, a better understanding of the challenges and contributions of mobility in a professional environment and finally, in the medium and long term, a strengthening of the employability of apprentices;

For the European partners: the development of partnerships with VET institutions and companies allowing the establishment of sustainable links, the exchange and acquisition of good practices in the field of apprenticeship, as well as reciprocity in the search for secure host sites.

Transnational meetings and organization of work placements

Five transnational meetings will be organized throughout the project, in Dijon (project launch and closing meetings), Barcelona, Liepāja and Faro. During these meetings, the work done by each partner, the organization of the mobilities, the feedback after each one, etc. will be shared and discussed.

The target group will be students in vocational training, apprentices or other statuses (depending on the country), level V or IV and preferably minors. Thus, each partner country of this project will select 6 students (i.e. 24 in total), who will carry out "TEST MOBILITY" in groups of two, in order to establish a diagnosis of the points to be improved and then of the tools to be created to simplify and promote this type of apprenticeship in European companies. These "test mobilities" will be conducted in three periods over one school year.

To be more precise, this means that each partner will select and send 6 apprentices on a mobility trip and will receive 6 apprentices from the European partner countries of the project.
