Wellspring Counselling

Wellspring provides residents of North Somerset with an affordable, professional Counselling service, for adults and for young people aged 11-18. 

Sessions are offered in a variety of local venues including Nailsea Methodist Church, where the Director and administration team all have their office base.  Sessions are also carried out at Towerhouse Surgery, Nailsea School and in venues in Clevedon and Portishead.

Wellspring was originally the vision of Nailsea clergy and GPs, who in the 1990s recognised a pressing community need for accessible and affordable counselling services. Since 1994, both the ethos and this need have not changed, and Wellspring has helped thousands of local residents find help and hope through the listening expertise of professionally trained counsellors.  

As well as providing mental health courses for adults, Wellspring also provides a listening mentor service for those aged 11-16 years who need a confidential space to offload on a trusted adult.

Wellspring regularly runs training courses at the Methodist Church for counsellors and other caring professionals and is actively involved in the community with its fundraising activities.
