2. Hip to lip Sitting and standing (Knees bent) Build up speed with good technique.
3. Everybody is it. Everyone chases everyone at the same time. How many can you catch in 30 seconds?
On all weather Roll lift 1st, on grass jab lift 1st

A Pick n stick: 10m x 10m – lifting different ball each time
G Relays: 3 players – 3 meters – 3 goes each.

Mega Game: Pass the guards Ground Hurling
3 teams – 10-15 sliotars – middle team must stop other 2 teams passing the ball – below head high
When the ball is intercepted, it is taken out of the game – how quickly can you complete the task!?!?!

A Goal strike in pairs. Players are striking the ball through a pair of cones or tyres or wall
G Target games such as Skittles Knock the cones/hit the target OR “Drop it in” - use a tyre or bucket
Use hurdles or Hurley where possible.
1. Basic balance: One leg, knee up. One leg, knee up, arms out. One leg knee up arms overhead.
Then all the above with eyes closed. Standing, jogging with freeze using one of the below.
2. Basic Squats and bootstrap squats. 4 squats, 4 steps, 4 seconds, repeat.
3. Hopping/jumping races (Short distance) double/single leg/zigzag. Can carry ball/Hurley
T “Plant the tree” Always from the ready position.
A “Plant the tree” and “Plant the forest” while Standing, walking, jogging then running.
G Piggy in the middle. 2 v 2 Allow 1 or 2 dribbles then they must strike.
T Cut the grass on the move walking, jogging, then run. Skim the top of the grass.
A Tyres x 4: straight line. In pairs. Start with walking…jogging…running. Left and right sides
You can add in the hook on this when strike tech is good. “Set the trap.” Between elbow and shoulder.

Knee Tag
Game. Litter bugs using the brick flick. If you have over 12 players run 2 games.
1. Hand dribbles: Straight, random and figure of 8. Footballs, sliotars, tennis balls
2. Underarm bowling at skittles (Tall cones or a target) with left and right hands.
3. Pick and stick with throw, catch and tackle. How many in 30 sec? “catching hand”,
Hand pass, Brick flick, high throw and catch. Can have 3 teams (1 team tackle, how many tackles in 1 min)
T “Flick pass” with fingers NOT palm. Can they underarm throw/bowl?
A Underarm Bowling with hurl in pencil hand-through partners legs-hitting a target or against a wall
G Relay Races. Normal and modified relay races.
You can have any set-up you want here. You can add in poles, hurdles, etc….
Example: 3 players, 3 yards, 3 goes.

MEGA GAME: Ground Striking “don't let it stop” with 2 massive teams!
10-20 sliotars depends on numbers.
If a sliotar stops moving in your half of the pitch your opposition get a point!
First to a certain score or most scores in a time limit wins the game.

G Grid Swap. Teams of 3 with 6 sliotars. Keep the distance short between each grid.
1. Squat jumps.
2. Heel to toe tight rope walk forwards then backwards for 6 steps. Try eyes closed! (Can use Hurley.)
3. Animal jump relays. Bunny, Kangaroo and Frog.
T “Flick pass” with fingers NOT palm. Can they underarm throw/bowl?
A Hand pass to self. Same ball, stationary, walking then jogging. How many in 30 seconds?
G Quick Fire Hand Pass Relay Race.
In pairs, players are passing the ball to each other as fast as possible over different distances.
They must pass the ball 10 times from each distance. (This can be varied)
Start at 1m, 2m, then back to 3m.
Add in a hook activity if striking technique is good)
T Hurl drag/strike. Coach drags their hurl away from players as they chase and strike hip to hip in pairs.
A Goal strike in pairs.
Through cones or use wall. Players stand 5m either side of the goal.
Each pair has their own goal to score through
Vary the distance based on age/ability.
G Pass the guards:
3 teams. 1 team in the middle with 2 teams either side trying to pass across.
Adjust area to suit age/ability.

Dodge ball with sponge balls
2 teams – 3m-5m gap between areas - over hand throw

1. Random cone jog-high knees. Spread cones randomly. Player’s jog over a different cone each time.
2. Knee lifts Hands on hips. Stationary then marching with hands on hips. (Add in hurdles)
3. 2s,3s,4s etc…... into groups.
On the whistle, players run around the playing area. (20m x 20m) approx.
The coach then calls “2-3-4 or 5”. Players must then get into groups of that number.
T Step out to attack the ball with overhand “claw” catch - never step back
A Partner catches. With BB, tennis ball or sliotar. In pairs from different distances
G “333” Relay Races. 3 players, 3 yards, 3 goes. You can add in extra cones, ladders, hurdles etc...

2 giant teams
Lots of cones placed across middle of playing area.
How quickly can the entire group knock all the cones down and can they beat their time in the next go!!!

A Quick fire in pairs. Players pass sliotar to each other as fast as possible over a set distance
Distance depends on ability/age.
G Quick Fire Race. Pass the ball as fast as possible over 3 different distances.
10 times from each distance. Vary to suit age/ability
1. Hand ground striking. With foam ball/tennis ball/football or sliotar.
2. Tennis ball exercises. Standing/sitting bounce to partners. Stationary and moving. Left/right hand.
3. Litterbugs. 2 or 4 areas.
Normal rules, throw from squat position or backwards overhead throws. Double and single leg.
T “Flick pass” with fingers NOT palm. Can they underarm throw/bowl?
A Pick, flick, catch and stick. On the move, different ball each time. how many in 30 seconds?
G Around the square race. Adjust size of square to suit players. 2-5 meters.
One player at a corner of the square. Handpass the ball to each other around the 4 corners.
The square must be small. They do not follow the ball. 1 player from each team at each corner.
T In pairs/3s. Stationary. Step out to attack the ball with overhand catch, never step back.
A Partner catches. Randomly moving around the area, underarm throwing, and overhand catching (Claw)
G Quick Fire head high Catch Race.
In pairs, passing as fast as possible over 3 different distances.
Players pass the ball 5/10 times from each distance such as 1m, 3m, 5m. (Vary depending on age/ability)
