General Information

• Officials' Responsibilities:

  • Be ready head to your court no later than 15 minutes prior to match time.  Plan your actual arrival time accordingly.

  • Teams will conduct informal warm-ups on their own and should be ready to play at match time.

  • Dress in a professional attire.  Volleyball Certified polo or MVOA polo,  navy pants, white shoes.

  • You will be the R1 on the court (the only official for the court) & are responsible for your own whistle, net chain, ball pump & coin.  Please bring Line Judge flags if you have them.

  • If there is a FORFEIT on your court, go work on another court as their R2 and practice your transition and R2 techniques.  Do not sit out.  

• Report Scores: Captains have been asked to report scores after their matches to the site supervisor.  It would be a good idea if you also record the scores in case there are issues.

• Payment/Match Formats:

  • Officials are paid directly by the event.

  • $30 = Pool Play, 45 min time limit, 2 Sets to 25, cap 27, starting at 4-4.

  • $38 = Bracket Play, Winners, Best 2 sets of 3, Sets 1 & 2 start 4-4, cap 27, Set 3 (if needed), starts 0-0 to 15, no cap.

  • $28 = Braket Play, Consolation, Best 2 sets of 3, Sets 1 & 2 start 0-0 to 15, cap 17, Set 3 (if needed), starts 0-0 to 15, no cap.

  • $20 = Bracket Play, If Match, Single Set to 25, starts 0-0, no cap
