In addition to the timetable above, pupils should please CHECK THE CALENDAR HERE for concerts and other music performances. On concert days, the clinic will not run as normal.
Pupils attending the coursework clinic are encouraged to wait in Room 88 and complete homework / coursework until the clinic begins.
At clinic times, when the doors to the music department are locked, the clinic may be accessed by the rear door to Room 88.
At clinic times MO may also be found in Room 89b or helping pupils in the music practice rooms 93-97. When you arrive at the clinic, please find MO and make him aware.
The clinic does not take place at lunch or breaktimes when priority is instead given to music ensemble rehearsals.
MO may also be available to work with students at the following times
(during which MO is not timetabled to teach, excluding lesson cover and observation). At these times MO may be found in Room 89b or helping pupils in the music department rooms 88-97.
Week A
Mon Lesson 1
Tue Lesson 4
Fri Lessons 2 & 6
Week B
Mon Lesson 1
Tue Lessons 1, 2, 3 & 6
Wed Lesson 3
Thu Lesson 2
Fri Lesson 1
Practice A level and GCSE music performing coursework may also be recorded at any time IN THE MUSIC DEPARTMENT when A MEMBER OF MUSIC STAFF IS PRESENT.
Pupils may:
Borrow an mp3 recorder and USB wire from Room 89b.
Record in any available music department room (note that most music department rooms are unavailable before 3:30pm due to lessons).
Download their recorded mp3 files to their Chromebook/laptop.
Email the mp3 file of their preferred practice recording to MO.
The music department mp3 recorders MUST NEVER be removed from the music department. Preventing other pupils from using mp3 recorders by removing them is thoughtless and selfish.
When does music coursework clinic take place?
Almost every day except concert days, when Mr O’Malley must rehearse with pupils who are performing in the concert.
How do I use music coursework clinic?
Come to Room 88 and make Mr O’Malley aware that you are waiting.
If not in Room 88, please find Mr O’Malley in Rm 89b, or in one of the music practice rooms upstairs, recording other students’ coursework.
Wait in one of the music classrooms or practice rooms.
Whilst waiting, prepare your equipment (e.g. instrument), warm up, work on your composition coursework or quietly complete homework.
Mr O’Malley will help each pupil in turn, beginning with performing coursework, concluding with composing coursework.
The quietest day is Tuesday. The busiest day is Friday. If you require more help, you are advised to wait until the end of the clinic when other pupils have departed.
