Tiffin School is a centre for Associated Board (ABRSM) practical music exams. Tiffin pupils can take Associated Board practical exams (Grades 1-8 and ARSM) at school on their chosen instrument or voice.
Tiffin pupils who receive individual music lessons at school will normally be recommended for Associated Board music exams by their instrumental/singing teacher.
Parents will be asked to give permission for their child to be entered for his/her exam by paying the exam fee, plus £10 administration fee, through Parentpay.
If parental permission (in the form of the exam fee) is received before the given deadline, the pupil will be entered for his/her exam.
The school will endeavour to provide a piano accompanist for all pupils requiring one.
Pupils, with the help of their parents, are responsible for purchasing the sheet music and (if applicable) the piano accompaniment sheet music for their exam pieces. Pupils are responsible for bringing this sheet music to their exam and to any preparatory rehearsals with their accompanist.
Tiffin pupils who receive individual music lessons outside school may also take Associated Board music exams at school.

Information about ABRSM Performance Grades, which are a remotely assessed alternative to ABRSM practical music exams, can be found here: https://gb.abrsm.org/en/our-exams/performancegrades/
Being a remote assessment, the music department does not coordinate entries for ABRSM Performance Grades.
Instead, pupils are encouraged to enter these exams with the help of their instrumental or singing teacher, or independently through the ABRSM website: https://gb.abrsm.org/en/exam-booking/
Pupils do not require a certificate from their previous exam, nor from their Grade 5 Music Theory exam to enter their next ABRSM practical music exam.
Nonetheless, if you require a replacement certificate, please visit the ABRSM Replacement Certificates pages:
