Identifying Instruments of the Orchestra Practice Listening
Complete the practice listening tasks by playing the audio tracks below and, for each musical extract, identifying the instrument(s) which play the main melody.
In your exercise book, on a separate piece of paper or on your computer, name each melody instrument in order as it is heard.
To improve the function of the mp3 audio files, use the icons in the top right of the window to 'pop out' and download each audio file before listening.

Musical Instruments Listening Quizzes
If you have earphones and your teacher allows you to do so, you are welcome to listen to the following musical examples illustrating the history of the orchestra as you complete the Instruments of the Orchestra Reading and Understanding task here.
Please read the text about the instruments of the orchestra, and complete each exercise by answering the questions at the end of each paragraph.
Please answer in full sentences in your OneNote notebook on the page titled 'Instruments of the Orchestra Reading & Understanding', or on a separate piece of paper, or in a separate document.
The difficulty level of each question is different. If you do not understand or are unable to answer a question, don't worry, just move on to the next, and return to the more difficult questions at the end of the exercise if you have time.
