Alphonse Laurent Mustel,1873-1936, 

Est un compositeur, harmonumiste, facteur d'harmoniums français.

Le Célesta inventé par son père Auguste Victor Mustel et perfectionné par Alphonse.

Alphonse Mustel fait son apprentissage de l'ébénisterie menuiserie avec un oncle. Il est inventeur et facteur d'harmoniums français qui, avec son fils Charles Henry (1840-1890) et son père Auguste Victor Mustel, perfectionna et fabriqua l'harmonium ou orgue expressif inventé par Alexandre-François Debain en 1842. Alphonse Mustel fut aussi l'inventeur du typophone (1866) perfectionné par son père Auguste et connu sous le nom de célesta depuis 1886.

En 1903, il a publié un traité sur l'harmonium en 2 vol. : L'Orgue-expressif ou Harmonium. Le 1er tome porte sur la facture de l'instrument (Art, Histoire, Anatomie) et le 2e comporte des compositions originales pour harmonium.

Il effectua des voyages d'études aux États-Unis en 1904 et 1919 et parcourut l'Europe comme virtuose de l'harmonium.

Alphonse Mustel apprenticed in cabinetmaking with an uncle. He was a French inventor and maker of harmoniums who, with his son Charles Henry (1840-1890) and his father Auguste Victor Mustel, perfected and manufactured the harmonium or expressive organ invented by Alexandre-François Debain in 1842. Alphonse Mustel was also the inventor of the typophone (1866) perfected by his father Auguste and known as the celesta since 1886.

In 1903 he published a treatise on the harmonium in 2 vols. : The Organ-expressive or Harmonium. The 1st volume covers the craftsmanship of the instrument (Art, History, Anatomy) and the 2nd includes original compositions for harmonium.

He made study trips to the United States in 1904 and 1919 and toured Europe as a harmonium virtuoso.
