The Guardian Summaries are a really popular feature of Google Classroom with our parents. They help them to stay in touch with their children's progress and they give a clear sense of how busy life at Clayesmore is.
It's helpful to have a good idea of how they look. While Classroom is primarily a way of communicating with the students, it's worth being aware that our announcements do have a second audience in the parents.
We should always write for the students - and that student/teacher communication is an impressive part of the way we work at Clayesmore - but don't think of it as an entirely private conversation.
Here is a slightly shortened example of a Guardian Summary
This might include assignments where the student has completed the work but has simply forgotten to click 'Hand In'.
It's worth reminding your classes to click this button before the summaries go out on Friday afternoon.
This can be very helpful in identifying 'pinch points' when a student is going to find it difficult to meet all their deadlines
