Lab Safety Activity

Lab safety is extremely important in the science classroom for many reasons. Firstly, it is important that the correct safety protocols are followed by both teachers and students in order to ensure safety for all parties. In addition, teaching lab safety to students is preparing them for the necessary lab techniques that scientists use every day. Teaching lab safety is teaching the procedural knowledge of science that helps the students build their schema of what a scientist looks like and does. Teaching and practicing lab safety skills will ensure that students are comfortable with all lab safety procedures.
