Integrating technology into the science classroom can provide powerful multimodal tools for displaying information and applying content knowledge. Using technology in the science classroom can help students access content and skills that may otherwise be out of reach due to budget constraints, time, or safety. Technology should not replace hands-on experience, but enhance classroom instruction. Especially in science, where there are many topics that are either too big or too small to interact with in a classroom environment, technology can provide the resources to manipulate what we could not previously. For example, using a PhET simulation of DNA synthesis to visualize the microscopic, or being able to manipulate time in a simulation when discussing erosion. Below are different technologies that I have studied for their usage in the science classroom.
