Welcome to the 1970s Cinema section of the MrSuperphil Picture House.

The 1970s were one of the greatest decades in cinema, giving us unforgettable horror, science fiction, thrillers, disaster movies, cult classics and blockbuster favorites.

From Jaws and classic Bond to gritty thrillers, strange cult films and unforgettable genre cinema, this section brings together my reviews from a decade packed with atmosphere, imagination and iconic moments.

This is by far my favorite decade of cinema.  The movies just looked like movies should, probably to do with the cameras used at the time, and film stock used.

Its the decade that gave us horror classics like The Exorcist (1973), The Texas Chain saw Massacre (1974), The Omen (1976), and many others.

Bond movies were still going strong, with Roger Moore taking over - still my favorite Bond.

Star Wars (1977) was amazing to watch in the cinema as a child - this is the reason im here now writing a website.  It effected me so much with the movie magic.
